Slutty Brownies

Yup. I made these purely for the name. They tasted pretty good too haha.

Essentially, these are a three layer brownie, with cookie on the bottom, oreo in the middle, and brownie on top.

See? 😀

So, these were pretty easy to make. Now, I didn’t have a 9×9 pan, so I used something that was a little bigger, which made the cookie layer a little thinner than I wanted it. Also, while this cookie recipe was pretty good, I’ve had better, so I would probably substitute a different one. This recipe also has a brownies from scratch recipe. Yeah, I used the box mix. Which made the brownie layer a little thicker than I wanted it, and coincidentally took like 45 minutes to bake. Because the layers were uneven, the cookies were completely done, but the brownies were still a little underdone.

They still were pretty good though, everyone that happened to be at the house last night liked them!

Red Velvet Pancakes

image

Yup. I am fully aware that those are in fact green and not red haha. I looked in the cupboard before going shopping and saw the words food coloring, so I thought it was red and didn’t worry about it. I go to make these, look in the cupboard again, and see that what I thought was red food coloring was actually green food coloring. So, technically these are green velvet pancakes, but I’m also playing with the title Happy Spring Pancakes. I think that one may stick haha

Anyway, all that aside, batter was quick and easy to make, and it makes a pretty good pancake. However, I suck at flipping pancakes. I got the hang of it near the end, but not without a few casualties. However, I did manage to do the thing where you flip the pancake in the pan itself without the spatula. I may have only done it once, but it happened. So yay! Although, the interesting thing about actually cooking them is that you have to watch really carefully or they will brown. Which would look great if they were just regular pancakes, but with the green food coloring, it looked a little weird, like the some of the top ones, but whatever haha.

In the end, they tasted pretty good. I mostly know this because I made them last night before we had some people over for a night of drinking and cards agains humanity. I woke up this morning, and every single pancake was gone haha

Cinnamon French Toast Bake

Last night, we had some people over for an Easter potluck dinner, and this was my contribution to it!

It was actually pretty easy to make, mostly a lot of mixing things and putting them in the pan. Now, for the heavy whipping cream I substituted it with half the recipe amount of cream cheese. (So 1/2 cup of HWC, 1/4 cup of cream cheese). Mostly because heavy whipping cream is fattening and expensive, and I found this substitute online. Now, it worked fine. But, I forgot to soften the cream cheese before adding it to the mix, so no matter how much I mixed, whisked, and stirred, there were tiny little bits of cream cheese floating around. Which was fine, it didn’t really affect anything.

When all was said and done though, I thought it was pretty good! Everyone else seemed to like them as well. I would dip it in maple syrup or put extra on it or something in order to give it a little something extra. Also, random clumsiness, I was drizzling on the icing, and my hand slipped, hence the mini-lake on the right side haha
